Beautiful vintage Red Orange Eames for Herman Miller sideshells. The fiberglass shell is in great vintage condition with no fractures or damage.

The base is a new Modern Conscience dowel base, studio made with kiln dried Black American Walnut and black powder-coated steel. We are very proud of our bases. They are the only bases made in the United States and we make them to the highest standards.

These chairs are available in wide or narrow mount configuration. If you're not an Eames collector, let us explain. The 'mounts' are the black rubber pucks on the underside of the fiberglass seat and they were originally adhered in two possible configurations. The wide mount configuration is the least versatile, it only fits Modern Conscience wide mount dowel bases and the scholastic stacking bases. The narrow configuration is more versatile, fitting the dowel base, eiffel base, rocker base, h-base, and cat's cradle base. These red orange seats are originally wide mount, and sometimes collectors want the shockmounts to be original as well, so we are offering these in their original wide configuration, or newly updated to the narrow configuration, your choice. The wide shockmounts are currently original, 60 years old, and well affixed, but please understand that we can only guarantee the fitness of the new narrow mount shockmount configuration if you choose to order them in that form. Shockmounts that are 60 years old will not last forever. We have also discounted the price on the wide version to account for that difference.
