Mitsumasa Sugasawa studied at Chiba University and The Danish National Engineering Laboratory. With the exception of the armrests, this ingenious chair and ottoman utilize one molding free of joints. Sugasawa's design was the winner of the 1966 Kitaro Kunii Industrial Arts Prize.
This example features it's original blue wool upholstery, clean and comfy. The Japanese Oak is in above average condition, it's free of breaks and damage. The finish has a gentle worn look, fitting for a vintage piece with appropriate patina for it's age. Both the rocker and the ottoman feature their original Tendo Mokko marks.
