The wire rod bases option was available through Herman Miller beginning in 1951. The nylon snap style eiffel base was produced from the 1960's through the 1970's and is the most recent iteration. While the Eames simply called them rod bases, the adoring public refers to these bases as the Eiffel base.
Modern Conscience crafts a high-quality black powder-coat Eiffel base with nylon glides. This base will fit all of the Charles Eames for Herman Miller shells with the narrow shockmount configuration. Click here to determine if you have a narrow mount seat.
