The barstool dowel bases are a beautiful finishing touch to the perfect Eames collection. Very few were ever originally produced, although you will find them in the book Eames Design, by John Neuhart, a book known to many collectors as "The Eames Bible."

This iconic design is handcrafted by Modern Conscience in solid maple hardwood, one of the originally available hardwoods. This base will fit all Charles Eames for Herman Miller shells with the narrow shockmount configuration. This is a bar height base, with a 30" seat height. The wood is finished with hand rubbed tung oil, which is sustainable, non-toxic and will not require refinishing in 5 to 7 years, as with varnish or polyurethane (click here to learn more about wood finishes).
